Thoughtfully crafted

Small group Alaska hiking trips, history tours, backpacking trips, and more

Revel's immersive, educational experiences connect you to our community.

We offer guided hiking trips, hiking packages, backpacking trips, history tours, and more - year-round in Palmer. Trips are a maximum of five visitors, intentionally kept small to provide high-quality, educational experiences. Visitors can easily opt for a private guide if they prefer a more personal experience.

Why Revel?

A reservation with Revel supports the local community. Since January 2023 we’ve connected with over 400 locals through hikes, skis and educational events. Our small group hikes and courses offer locals opportunities to learn, get outdoors and build community.

A trip with Revel supports the following community initiatives:

  • Ladies Night Out(doors): Monthly meet-ups connecting experienced adventurers with those new to Alaska adventures.

  • Community Hikes for 50ish and over: Monthly adventures for our more 'seasoned' explorers.

  • Hike and Learn Events: Outdoor activities where local experts share their passions, from mushrooms to avalanche awareness.

  • Outdoor Education Scholarships: Because everyone deserves a chance to learn outdoor skills.

  • Community-building Events: Encouraging health, wellness, and outdoor play for all.

  • Our Winter Speaker Series: During Alaska’s darkest months, we offer monthly presentations designed to spark curiosity about where we live in the world.

Rooted in community.

Revel started as an idea that community, education, and connection to place are essential for visitors and locals alike.

Our guiding principles

  • Less is more.

Small group trips mean more personal attention from your local guide.

  • Support Alaska.

From hiring locals to collaborating with other Alaska businesses and vendors - we source as much as possible from the last frontier.

  • Empowerment through education.

As lifelong learners we hope our adventures spark a curiosity that will keep you (and us!) asking questions.

  • Foster community.

We want you to feel welcome and connected to the local community. Even a few hours with us can build a lasting connection to the Palmer area.

  • Stewards of the land.

We keep our footprint small, follow Leave No Trace principles, and partner with land agencies for the best practices.

  • Commitment to safety.

Our backcountry guides are Wilderness First Responder certified, and we incorporate a safety brief at the beginning of each trip.
