Registration required. There is no cost to join us, but we do ask you sign up so we don’t leave any stragglers behind at the trailhead! This event has been made possible by Now Health.
When: Saturday, November 22
Please arrive at the trailhead between 10:45AM and 11AM. We will begin our hike promptly at 11AM.
Where: We will meet at the Mt. Baldy trailhead in Eagle River
What to expect: We will hike at a moderate pace and stick together as a group. Hikers can plan to stop for water and snack breaks, a lunch break, and photo and educational opportunities. We generally hike this a loop trail, ascending Baldy via the valley just to the north of the summit. On a clear day hikers will enjoy scenic views of Anchorage from the summit. We'll descend the 'switchback' side of the trail on the face of Mt. Baldy.
🥾 Mileage: Approximately 3.6 miles
🥾 Elevation Gain: About 1,200 feet
🥾 Difficulty: moderate to strenuous for most people
🥾 Estimated Hiking Time: About 3-4 hours
Can I bring my pup? No. We ask you leave pups behind for this event. Thanks for understanding.
Cost: This is a free community event. Thank you, Now Health!
A couple other notes: If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel prior to the event, please contact the team at 907-903-1664.
What to bring:
Comfortable tennis/trail shoes or hiking boots
Warm gear (hats, mittens, scarves, jacket, etc.)
Rain/snow gear
Ice cleats (kathoolas or similar)
Trekking poles (as desired)
Headlamp
Water, snacks, and a packed lunch as desired
A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.
Trip minimums: We require a minimum of 2 registered participants to run our community trips. In the event we do not meet our trip minimum, your guide will call you the evening prior to our trip departure.
Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out if needed.
Will I summit? Revel makes no guarantees that individuals or our group will summit during these adventures. It’s a great goal, but safety remains our top priority. The nature of recreating in Alaska requires flexibility. Weather, wildlife, terrain, injury, etc. can all warrant a shift in plans. Please join our adventures with an open mind.
