Bike Matanuska Greenbelt

  • Kin-Win Trailhead (map)

Adventure Club members can attend this event as one of your free monthly adventures

When: Wednesday, July 9, 2025

Time: 9:45AM-1PM (approximate end time)

Please arrive at the trailhead between 9:45AM and 10AM. We will begin our ride promptly at 10AM.

Where: We will meet at the Kin-Win Trailhead.

About the ride and what to expect: We’ll bike at a leisurely pace and stick together as a group. Bikers can plan to stop for water and snack breaks as well as photo and educational opportunities. We’ll follow wide dirt trails beside farm fields and narrow singletrack around lakes before riding back to the trailhead. A mountain, gravel, or fat-tire bike with good traction is required. Although no special mountain biking skills are needed (we’ll walk our bikes over any rough spots as necessary), this is a good ride for those looking for more practice mountain biking.

  • Difficulty: moderate for most people

  • Mileage: Approximately 8 miles

  • Elevation Gain: About 200 feet

  • Estimated Biking Time: About 2-3 hours

Bike fees:

  • Adventure Club members may attend this event as part of their 1 or 2 free, monthly events. Learn about the club here.

  • First-time attendees may attend this event for free. When you register, please select “first-timer.”

  • For all other guests, $19 to join this event. If you are interested in a scholarship, please complete the scholarship form via the button below. Your bike fees help cover guide wages and our permitting fees.

Parking: Kin-Win Trailhead does not require a parking fee. There is no bathroom at this trailhead.

Can I bring my pup? No. For this particular event, we ask folks to leave pups behind. Thanks for understanding!

What to bring:

  • Bike helmet (required)

  • Daypack

  • Clothing layers

  • Long pants for riding beside brush

  • Rain gear (recommended)

  • Water and snacks as desired

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority, and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.

Trip minimums: We require a minimum of 2 registered participants to run our community adventures. If a scheduled event is canceled due to low sign-ups, participants will receive a full refund or credit towards a future event. Adventure Club members can receive a credit towards future Revel events.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out.
