About: This challenging hike follows a narrow path from Hatcher Pass Summit (April Bowl) to the top of Government Peak to Government Peak Recreation Area, descending via the Blueberry Knoll trail. On this trek, expect exposed ridges that can be windy, with elevation gain of about 2,500 feet, followed by elevation loss of about 3,500 feet on a steep, well-established trail. We’ll stay together as a group; hike at a leisurely pace; and stop for breaks, to enjoy the views, eat, take photos, and learn about the surrounding mountain ranges.
Difficulty: Strenuous for most hikers
Distance: Approximately 7 miles
Additional details, information on what to bring, etc. are provided during the registration process.
