In this course, participants will learn valuable skills for surviving in cold water environments, tailored to the unique challenges of Alaska's frigid waters. We will discuss tips and tricks for trip preparation and review basics on how to navigate Alaska's chilly waters safely.

Cold Water Paddling (Pool-based)

In this course, participants will learn paddling techniques, practice self-rescue, assisted rescue and discuss recommended gear for cold water paddling. Participants will have the opportunity to try canoes, stand-up paddleboards and kayaks in this pool-based course.

Join Ute Olsson of Borealkraut for a workshop all about printing with plant material. Choose plain or a naturally-dyed background color, then arrange fresh leaves over silk to create your own one-of-a-kind silk scarf. While our silk bundles are being heat-processed, learn more about natural dyeing techniques, and how to identify local plants.

Join the Revel team in partnership with Wrangell Mountain Wilderness Lodge for a Wrangell St. Elias adventure. Trip includes 2-nights of comfort at the lodge (a night before and after our backpacking trip) plus a 3-day/2-night backpacking excursion.

Hatcher Pass: 3-day/2-night Backpacking Trip

Join the Revel team in for a 3-day/2-night off-trail backpacking excursion in the Talkeetna Mountains.

Sept. 5: Depart Palmer, AK and head to the Talkeetna Mountains. Our trip will start from a trail but quickly turn into an off-trail adventure.

Sept 6: Backpacking trip continues

Sept. 7: Return via the route we entered and head back to Palmer for a post-trip dinner and celebration.

You’ve heard of the Oosik… but have you heard of the SVEN ERIKSSON? This lesser known event takes place annually in Willow as part of the Willow Winter Carnival. Join the Revel team for an all-day outing and community ski. This event is perfect for folks looking to dabble in a longer ski with adventure buddies. The ski event is 25km in total (about 15 miles). The “race” is not timed.
